Certifications & Quality
GE Marine & Stationary Power strives to provide quality products to our customers. Our Engines are ABS and NAPM certified and produced in facilities with Quality Systems certified to conform with ISO 9001:2008 and AAR M-1003. GE Marine & Stationary Power also utilizes Six Sigma methodologies to emphasize our dedication to manufacturing quality products.
ABS
ABS certifies that enrolled manufacturers around the world are capable of consistently producing a product in compliance with product specifications. Each product is tested extensively to verify that it will perform reliably in the marine and offshore environment.
Six Sigma
Six Sigma is an extremely disciplined process that focuses on developing and delivering near perfect products and services. It is a statistical term that measures how far a given process deviates from perfection. The central idea behind Six Sigma is that if you can measure how many "defects" you have in a process, you can systematically figure out how to eliminate them and get as close to "zero defects" as possible. Six Sigma has changed the DNA of GE – it is now the way we work – in everything we do and in every product we design.
ISO 9001
Every business has to have a reason to exist - a reason that answers the fundamental question of "why are we here?"
For GE, the big question has a simple answer: We exist to solve problems - for our customers, our communities and societies, and for ourselves.
NAPM/ISM
From 0 to 60 in six seconds? Try zero to $5 billion in five years.
It's not so much a vision for our future - where we're headed is in many ways a reflection of where we've already been. It's not a destination. It's a quest. A quest for growth. And when we look to the future, we know that for us, there's only one way to get there. Build.
AAR M1003
AAR M1003 certification is equivalent to and complies with ISO 9001/9002 standards.
